Internationally renowned dance teacher and artist TweetBoogie and DJ Go BIZZY! present a storytime focusing on the music and dancing styles of Hip-Hop. Beats and books combine for an activity that the whole family can enjoy. Listen to the story, When the Beat was Born: DJ Kool Herc and the Creation of Hip-Hop by Laban Carrick Hill, and learn a short dance routine.
In the Garden at Damrosch Park
Presented by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, which currently has a great (air-conditioned) costume design exhibit.
