Forest Bathing
April 24, 5:30 pm –6:30 pm
Suggested Ages: 4 to Adult Friendly, Adult Friendly
Take a second to reflect and practice mindfulness this Arbor Month. Join Nancy Kopans, certified forest therapy guide and founder of Urban Edge Forest Therapy, on a slow mindful walk throughout the park. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing focuses on the connection between oneself and nature. This practice is said to boost the immune system, reduce stress, and improve cognitive functioning. As an arboretum the park’s diverse tree canopy is the perfect space to connect with one’s body, mind and spirit.
This session will be tailored for families and children. This session is recommended for children, ages 4-12. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
This program is free but registration is required.
