Art in the City: Jasmine Blooms at Night
August 19, 2023, 10:00 am –1:00 pm
Suggested Ages: 5 to 12
Inspired by Jaishri Abichandani’s Jasmine Blooms at Night, featured in exhibition City of Faith: Religion, Activism, and Urban Space, create a mixed media portrait of someone inspirational.
The Museum of the City of New York invites children ages 5-12 to a weekly hands-on art making series, Art in the City. Lifting the range of materials used by artists in the centennial show, This is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture, each session introduces children to a different art form/medium, including mosaics, landscape painting, felt collage, and more. Through independent and collaborative material exploration, children will be able to build a personal connection to the observant and playful ways artists visualize stories of New York City.
Sign up for either 10 am or 12 pm sessions.
