Join an Independence Day celebration featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence and tolling, 13 times, of the historic St. Paul’s church bell. Enjoy speeches, music, and refreshments. Guided tours explore the 18th century church, used as a military field hospital during the Revolutionary War, and the historic cemetery, among the nation’s oldest burial yards.St. Paul’s staff will give ongoing talks about the Declaration of Independence and women in the American Revolution. General Washington will be on hand, in his tent, holding court on war against the British.
