This midwinter break, families and kids can enjoy a special indoor edition of Brooklyn Botanic garden’s Discovery Programs in the Steinhardt Conservatory.

On Monday, celebrate the first birthday of BBG’s Trees of Little Caribbean exhibit with tastings and hands-on activities highlighting the trees and treelike plants cherished by Caribbean people. At 11 am, join local chef Isra Gordon of MintPorch Café for a tasting of Caribbean foods and drinks. Learn how to cook with foods from the Trees of Little Caribbean exhibit.

On Wednesday, travel from the desert to the rainforest (and beyond) in the blink of an eye! Use all five of your senses to investigate plants from these habitats.

On ages 4 & under are invited to a special indoor edition of First Discoveries, complete with crafts, stories, and other activities designed for the youngest nature explorers.
