Meet and make art with New-York Historical Society’s artist-in-residence Beatrice Glow! Glow’s exhibition, When Our Rivers Meet, is inspired by the 400th anniversary of the establishment of New Amsterdam and examines the legacy left on New York City as a former Dutch colony.

Glow welcomes visitors of all ages to look closely at the existing symbolism on our state and city seals and reimagine them with her through an afternoon of conversation and interactive art making. Families can continue delving into the ideas discussed with Glow and presented in her exhibition by picking up a History Detective Briefcase filled with activity cards, family discussion prompts, and unexpected hands-on materials.
